The mother and the child may want the deciphering of the relationship between the child and the father to be determined by the court.
A lawsuit is filed against the father and his heirs if the father has died. The paternity case is reported to the Public prosecutor and the Treasury; to the registrar if the case is filed by the mother; to the principal if it is filed by the father-in-law.(Turkish Civil Code Article 301)
